About Me

Hey all, my name is Megan, I'm 18 and I love reading. I have ever since I can remember--I think I read my first full length novel in third grade. I live in lovely California and I love watching girly movies and learning about astronomy (study of stars). I hope you enjoy my blog!

New Adult: My Favorite Mistake by Chelsea M. Cameron

DESCRIPTION:

Taylor Caldwell can't decide if she wants to kiss her new college roommate or punch him.
On the one hand, Hunter Zaccadelli is a handsome blue-eyed bundle of charm. On the other, he's a tattooed, guitar-playing bad boy. Maybe that's why Taylor's afraid of falling in love with him, or anyone else. She doesn't want to get burned, so she needs him gone before it's too late.
Hunter himself has been burned before, but Taylor's sexy laugh and refusal to let him get away with anything make her irresistible. Determined not to be kicked out of her life without a fight, Hunter proposes a bet: if she can convince him she either truly loves or hates him, he'll leave the apartment;and leave her alone.
But when the man behind Taylor's fear of giving up her heart resurfaces, she has to decide: trust Hunter with her greatest secret, or do everything in her power to win that bet and drive him away forever

REVIEW:
This book was unexpectedly good. It was suspenseful, in the way that they didn't give away either of their secrets too soon. It was emotional, in the way that Taylor put up her walls even when she knows that Hunter can be good for her. And it was  sweet, in the way that she let her walls come down for him. This book is all about college romance, but it is also much deeper than that. Hunter and Taylor find comfort and strength in each other in a way they haven't done with anyone else. This book shows that people can build up walls and shut others out only to find that one person they make an exception for. This book is very relatable in that way because it connects with readers who have secrets of their own (and who doesn't?). I loved this book and I loved how it was not the type of book that ended right (SPOILER ALERT) when they fall in love.
